At Orqa, we’re building technology that allows humans and machines to see the world like never before. We bring together engineers, creators, and innovators who push the boundaries of what’s possible – from cutting-edge FPV systems to advanced Remote Reality solutions, and toward the next generation of robotics. And behind every great technology, there’s great organization.
We are looking for a Hardware Test Engineer specializing in PCBA manufacturing and Design for Testability (DFT).
In this role, you will be the bridge between our R&D hardware design team and our manufacturing partners. You will ensure our boards are optimized for high-yield production by designing, implementing, and debugging test strategies—including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Flying Probe, and Functional Testing (FCT).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Drive DFT Reviews: Analyze schematics and PCB layouts in Altium/Cadence during early design phases to ensure proper test point coverage, physical clearance, and JTAG boundary scan capabilities
Develop Test Fixtures: Own the deployment of ICT "bed-of-nails" fixtures and Flying Probe routines with our manufacturing partners
Automate & Program: Write and maintain test scripts (Python, LabVIEW, or C) for Functional Test (FCT) environments to automate instrument control (power supplies, DMMs, scopes)
Root-Cause Failures: Diagnose production line failures down to the component level, distinguishing between manufacturing defects (solder bridges, tombstoning) and design flaws
Yield Optimization: Analyze test data to identify failure trends, reduce cycle times, and minimize false-failure rates on the line
WHAT WE EXPECT
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
3+ years of experience in PCBA testing, production support, or hardware validation
Deep familiarity with test methodologies: ICT, Flying Probe and JTAG/Boundary Scan
Hands-on lab skills: Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and soldering
Strong understanding of manufacturing standards (IPC-A-610)
Our office is a drone testing playground, and every day starts with an idea no one has tried before. We move fast, learn constantly, and foster a culture of innovation. With flexible working hours, real hands-on testing, and a team that challenges the limits of technology, working at Orqa means working on the edge of what’s possible.
And that’s just the beginning — here are a few more reasons why you’ll love working at Orqa:
