About Orqa FPV

Founded in 2018 in Croatia, Orqa has grown from a hardware consulting firm into one of Europe’s leading drone technology companies. We design and manufacture advanced FPV and unmanned systems used by enterprise, industrial, and defense clients worldwide. With fully vertically integrated operations — covering design, electronics, optics, firmware, software, and in-house manufacturing — we maintain complete control over quality, performance, and supply chain reliability. This allows us to iterate quickly, optimize every part of the system, and deliver products that meet demanding real-world requirements. Today, Orqa products are used in more than 50 countries, with over 100,000 units delivered in 2024. Our mission is to build the enabling technologies for the future of Remote Reality and set new standards in the aerial robotics industry.

At Orqa, we’re building technology that allows humans and machines to see the world like never before. We bring together engineers, creators, and innovators who push the boundaries of what’s possible - from cutting-edge FPV systems to advanced Remote Reality solutions, and toward the next generation of robotics. And behind every great technology, there’s great organization.

We're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer – RF Speciality to join our RF/Skunkworks team and help develop the communication systems that power reliable long-range control of robotic platforms.

This is a software-focused role with strong ties to hardware development and RF electronics. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop, optimize, and integrate embedded firmware for advanced radio communication systems used in demanding real-world applications.

If solving complex technical challenges and building reliable communication systems for next-generation robotics excites you, we'd love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work closely with hardware, mechanical, and airframe teams to translate requirements into mass-produced systems

  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for innovative radio communication systems

  • Write clean, efficient, and robust C/C++ code in bare-metal or RTOS environments, primarily on STM32-based platforms

  • Collaborate with hardware, RF, FPGA, and firmware development teams to integrate solutions into complete systems, ensuring seamless operation and real-time performance

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation details, and performance benchmarks

  • Participate in design reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to continuously improve solutions

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience in embedded software development

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded development tools

  • Familiarity with SDR frameworks, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and optimization techniques

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on engineering mindset

  • Ability and willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience developing embedded software for radio communication links

  • Experience working with RF electronics

  • Interest in or experience with FPV drones and UAV platforms
