At Orqa, we’re building technology that allows humans and machines to see the world like never before. We bring together engineers, creators, and innovators who push the boundaries of what’s possible – from cutting-edge FPV systems to advanced Remote Reality solutions, and toward the next generation of robotics. And behind every great technology, there’s great organization.
We’re looking for a Desktop QA Engineer to take ownership of our desktop software quality processes and automated testing across multi-platform desktop applications.
In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of OS-level validation and automated UI testing, collaborating closely with software engineers, product managers, and hardware teams in an Agile environment. You will design desktop automation frameworks, audit system resource consumption, and validate seamless compatibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux ecosystems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conduct functional, manual, and automated testing for desktop applications across targeted operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Build and manage UI automation scripts tailored to desktop environments (e.g., WinAppDriver, PyWinAuto, Appium for desktop)
Audit system resource consumption (CPU, RAM usage, memory leaks, disk I/O) during prolonged application runtime
Test software installation packages, silent background updates, uninstallation processes, and backward compatibility
Validate application behavior across various display resolutions, custom hardware configurations, and connected peripherals
Perform exploratory testing, create and execute detailed test plans, and manage defect lifecycle tracking in tools like ClickUp
Set up clean, reproducible test environments using virtualization tools (VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V)
WHAT WE EXPECT
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience
Solid understanding of QA principles, test design techniques, boundary value analysis, and end-to-end SDLC in Agile/Scrum environments
In-depth knowledge of Windows, macOS, or Linux operating system architectures, file systems, and registries
Practical experience with desktop automation frameworks (e.g., WinAppDriver, PyWinAuto, Ranorex, AutoIt)
Proficiency using system diagnostic tools (e.g., Task Manager, Process Explorer, Xcode Instruments, Valgrind) to track memory leaks and performance spikes
Hands-on experience with virtualization tools (VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V) to build isolated test environments
Practical experience with bug-tracking tools (Jira, ClickUp, Confluence) and version control (Git)
Exceptional analytical skills, sharp attention to detail, and a proactive mindset toward defect prevention and root-cause analysis
Excellent written and spoken English skills with strong collaborative traits
